Aqdar’s UAE e-Safe School Online Safety initiative wins at WSIS 2017
Aqdar’s UAE e-Safe School Online Safety initiative wins at the prestigious United Nations - World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2017.
Future Digital is delighted to announce that our partner Aqdar has been awarded as a WSIS Winner for 2017 for it’s proactive e-Safe School Online Safety initiative as part of Khalifa Empowerment Program for Students.The initiative was awarded first place in the category: The role of government and all stakeholders in the promotion of ICTs for development.
WSIS described the initiative as ‘a brilliantly designed, Government lead project to challenge, support and recognise schools to review their e-safety provision and to develop and an action plan to protect their children online’. The initiative provides schools with a toolset to support schools in the UAE to develop online safeguarding strategies including the provision of Future Digital’s innovative and leading safeguarding and Prevent software solution.
Future Digital’s President and Founder, Ellie Puddle, said of the win, ‘We are delighted that Aqdar’s proactive work in the area of online safeguarding has been recognised by WSIS 2017. Future Digital is truly honored to be an integral part of Aqdar’s initiative that takes an innovative approach to safeguarding students across the UAE when they are online.
e-Safe School Online Safety is supported by Future Digital, UK Safer Internet Center, South West Grid for Learning, Ministry of Education Abu Dhabi and Knowledge Point.
